Eduardo Cardounel

Eduardo A. Cardounel is the majority owner of CLDG, has served as its President and CEO since 2000, and is a member of the company’s Board of Directors.

He not only conceptualized the Monte Christo Resort project back in 2006, but has been the primary driving force behind the destination resort’s design and development – a vision that he remains committed to seeing transformed into reality.
Mr. Cardounel is also Chairman of The CLDG Foundation (“TCLDGF”), a nonprofit organization he founded in 2011 to benefit and support those in need through a variety of humanitarian relief projects and initiatives, such as providing social interest housing, infrastructure and other services to help foster a better quality of life. Future funding for The CLDG Foundation will be derived, in large part, from a fixed percentage of the net profits derived from the Monte Christo Resort operations which CLDG has committed to donate annually to TCLDGF.

Mr. Cardounel earned a degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveyor & Appraisal from Louisiana State University’s College of Engineering, Baton Rouge, LA. He also attended the University of Havana, Cuba, where he studied Banking.
Mr. Cardounel and his wife reside in Florida.
